The Revs announce release of downloadable e-single

The single is called "Broken" and will be released on November 21st. It comprises of a one track download, with artwork, video stream and bonus track stream (Ode to St Susie) as a preview to the album in progress.

Already described by newly converted fan Dave Fanning as 'their best work to date by far'. Wonderfully melodic and Mature while still maintaining the high intensity they are known for, the first instalment of The Revs forthcoming album is an amazing insight into a band growing up in the public eye.

Since splitting with management and record label a year ago The Revs released their latest album Suck in Australia and after their sell out tour there, returned home to begin on their second studio album. Three years of constant touring had never enabled the band to have time away to concentrate completely on writing before - their live debut album "sonictonic" (Ire No. 5) was recorded in an hour and a half! And their first studio Album "Suck" (Ire No. 4) was written and recorded in 6 weeks.

For the first time the band were able to explore the experiences life on the road has thrown at them. A worn out tape player in the tour bus has awakened new influences, artists such as The Kinks, Turin Breaks and Teenage Fan Club. Playing the festival circuit and prestigious shows like Slane and Reading/Leeds allowed them the chance to play with acts like The Doves and The White Stripes and the Flaming Lips. It has been a constant learning curve for them. Thirty-two tracks in total have been written, with these first two being released as a preview to what promises to be a truly stunning album.

Broken and Ode to St Susie were produced by nick Seymour and engineered by Garth Mannix. Nick was bass player for Crowded House and since setting up a studio in Dublin he has produced tracks for Bell X1, Turn and Hal. Garth is highly respected young producer who not has not only worked with The Chalets but has worked with the legendary John Leckie.

The new single is a totally independent release, which has lent The Revs the opportunity to have total control for the first time over their work. The result is astonishing with the bands stamp all over every aspect of it even down to the artwork. This is a sneak preview of the album, which is due for international release early next year with a licensing deal for Europe and Asia still in place through Sony and in Australia with Smash Music/ Rough Trade. Tours are already planed for the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Australia and USA in 2005.

Forget any preconceptions you may have about The Revs, listening to these tracks will re-affirm your belief that they still have the potential to be one of the most successful Irish bands of the next few years.
